In the book, printed at Catania in 1894, G. Borzì describes the origin and formation of the volcano, speaks widely about the topography of the Etna and classifies the regions in: a) DESERT, b) WOODLAND, c) CULTIVATED.

The tight relationship between nature and history finds confirmation for all the Etnean centers, speaking about the first settlements in the territory, being so that in ancient times forest covered this entire region.
